How a Chest Picks Its Items

  1. It shows a few items Most chests show 3 and you take one. Each chest's page says how many it shows.
  2. Each one rolls a rarity 0.25% Legendary, else 3.75% Epic, else the chest's own. Rarer chests roll less or not at all.
  3. Then an item is drawn From the chest's pool, of that rarity, weighted by each item's spawn weight, and never the same one twice.

Pool Chests

Each draws from one kind of item.

Rarer Chests

Their items start at the chest's rarity.

Special Chests

Each works its own way.

  • An Epic or Spiked chest only rolls for Legendary. Legendary, Greed and Secret chests do not roll.
  • The modifiers count everywhere but on shop islands, in the Key chest and in the Arcade and Holdout.
  • When a chest has nothing left of the rolled rarity, the item keeps the chest's own.

Worked out from how the game fills a chest, with the numbers read from its code after each update; not counted from play.
